Vacation starts today! We are going away as a family for 10 days and I cannot wait to be officially on daddy time, spending time with my girls and only focusing on them! Unfortunately, as is normal with my job I have to stay connected, especially with the changes that are happening. Staff need to be supported and reassured; accounting needs to be answered; conference calls need to be attended. It sounds worse than it is, but in the end, it is nothing more than the level of disconnected I am allowed.
To that end, I have decided to disconnect as much as possible and I am giving myself permission to stop journaling for the next week. Close the laptop and just spend time with my wife and girls. It is something that I need to do, not just for them, but for me too.
